OUR PROCESS
How We Work
-
Let's talk design! The "Discovery Call" is the first step in our design process! It's a 15-20 minute phone conversation where we learn about your project and give you detailed information about our design process.
-
We will discuss layouts, materials, budgets, timelines, trade resources, priorities, our letter of agreement, and how we work and communicate with you during the design process. We begin by aligning your space with your needs.
-
During the design phase, our clients give us the freedom to design within their budget and translate the findings from our consultation into a full design. We will then schedule a formal presentation to guide you through the proposed designs, and discuss your budget analysis and next steps.
-
If you are having any rooms painted, wallpapered, lighting, electric, plumbing, flooring, etc., now is the time. The construction phase of the project begins and the vision starts to become a reality.
-
Your furnishings are being made, ordered, and assembled over the coming weeks/months.
-
As the larger aspects of your project are installed, the final phase of Full-Service Design is completing the space with the finishing details, such as artwork, area rugs, lighting, decor accents, pillows, window treatments, etc. Your dream space manifested, where you can now feel, touch, be inspired and fall in love with your space now that it what you always wanted it to be.
Frequently Asked Questions
HOW DO I OBTAIN YOUR SERVICES?
Let’s start with a no-obligation Discovery Call and we will explain our process and answer all of your questions.
HOW LONG DO PROJECTS NORMALLY LAST?
This depends on the scope of the project and what is purchased. Occasionally there are delays caused by weather, vendor vacations, factory errors, and other unpredictable influences, that are out of my control. Everyone involved: designer, client, vendors, and contractors are expected to not cause unreasonable delays in the project.
DO YOU WORK WITH CONTRACTORS?
I work with the contractors hired by the client. Midcity can provide a list of potential contractors for you to vet; however, Midicty does not provide contractor services, so independent architects and contractors hired by the client are an integral part of the process.
